At The Passage Theatre, one of our core values is to create community. As we look at the history of our institution, and particularly the demographics of our staff and board, we must acknowledge our own complicity in the system of white supremacy and our failure to adequately represent and uplift our community. We have taken this pause in programming to reflect on how to emerge post-pandemic as a stronger, more equitable company. Inspired in part by the words of We See You White American Theater, we have:

  • Revised our mission to affirm our commitment to artists and equitable practices

  • Shifted to a more accessible and intentional producing model

  • Increased transparency both internally and externally

  • Expanded our staff, company, and board

  • Reduced our board dues to $1 per year to remove financial barriers to board membership

Our work is not done, and we welcome feedback and suggestions, now and always. If you have any suggestions for our team or are interested in getting involved, please reach out to Co-Artistic Directors Kevin Minor and Grace Bolander at kevin.minor@thepassagetheatre.com and grace.bolander@thepassagetheatre.com.
